How fees work
Here is how paying works at this office, in the order most patients ask.
Insurance we work with
We are out of network with every plan, so we don't file claims for you. We don't take DHMO plans, and we are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP. If your plan reimburses out-of-network care, the receipt we give you is what you send it.

If you pay yourself
Most patients pay at the visit. You hear the fee before we begin, in writing. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit you get an itemized receipt with the procedure codes. Whether your plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you book or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect and its fee.

Checking your benefits
Before your first visit, call your plan and ask whether it reimburses out-of-network exams and night guards. Catherine can tell you which codes to ask about. We don't check coverage for you.

What the first visit includes
About an hour with Dr. Okada: an exam of your teeth, gums and bite, how your jaw moves, and X-rays only if she needs them. You leave knowing what she sees and what a guard would cost, in writing.

Ask before you come
Questions about a fee are welcome. Catherine can tell you what to expect over the phone.
